MY NEXT BIRTH AFTER CAESAREAN
In the United States and in Canada, one in three babies is born by caesarean section. If a person has had a caesarean section, they are more likely to choose one for their next births, but this may not be the ideal or safest choice for everyone. My Next Birth is a patient decision aid that helps people make the choice between planning a vaginal birth after caesarean and an elective repeat caesarean section. We are currently seeking funding to evaluate how My Next Birth may be used in routine clinical practice in Canada.

why birth
In Canada, people at low risk of complications can often choose between a planned hospital birth and a planned home birth. To help people understand these options and make decisions aligned with their preferences, we are creating an online, interactive patient decision aid, Where and How You Birth (WHY Birth). WHY Birth will be developed in consultation with people who are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. It will explain the differences between planned hospital birth and planned home birth, including what it means for how you give birth and which type of professional - a midwife, a family physician, or an obstetrician - provides your care.
